1.0 Details
INTERIOR ZONE
This is a seamless monolayer of rubber or synthetic or natural rubber that extends up to the rubber flanges of the joint so that the process fluid does not come into direct contact with the reinforcing fabric. This inner zone can be designed to meet specific service conditions and specifications required by the customer, i.e. for chemicals, petroleum, waste water, gaseous and abrasive products.
COVER
The external area of the seal is made from natural or synthetic rubbers depending on the application. The primary function of the cover is structural protection of the casing. Special polymers and materials can be supplied for chemicals, oils, sunlight, gases, acid and ozone.
FABRIC REINFORCEMENT
High quality synthetic fabric is used between the inner layer and the outer zone, allowing the gasket to operate at the operating pressures for which it is designed.
METALLIC REINFORCEMENT
Metal rings or wire embedded in the casing are used to give strength and firm structure to the gasket, allowing it to withstand the operating pressure of the process and providing the gasket with the rigidity to operate at negative pressures.

2.0 Advantages
MINIMUM LENGTH DIMENSIONS
Rubber expansion joints offer great economy of space in relation to elbows and expansion rings. Installation costs are reduced by savings in plant and storage space, installation labor, supports and pressure losses.
LIGHT WEIGHT
FLEXCOM® expansion joints are relatively lightweight, which avoids the use of additional equipment and machinery for transportation and movement. This reduces installation labor costs.
LOWER FORCES REQUIRED FOR FLEXIBILITY
The inherent flexibility of rubber seals allows almost limitless flexibility to recover from movements and vibrations, thus protecting the drive equipment from possible breakdowns and structural failures.
CORROSION AND EROSION RESISTANCE
Numerous materials and fabrics are available to the customer to withstand the operating conditions and fluid characteristics (chemical, petrochemical, cement, paper, etc.) to develop the most suitable expansion joints for the process in question, ensuring reliability and long product life.
